New Beginnings Story
New Beginnings “Your Favorite Store” started in May 2003 by mother and daughter, Janice Haldeman and Michelle Simmons.
We were ready for a new beginning… so in 2002, since we had vacation homes here, Rockport was the place!
Michelle, her husband Jimmy and son Mason packed up and moved from Dripping Springs with Janice following shortly after.
With the sale of our Collision Repair businesses in Austin, Round Rock and Corpus Christi, we soon realized we needed something to keep us busy… besides a toddler and baby on the way!
After so many life changing events “New Beginnings” seemed like an appropriate name for our venture into retail.
Unlike the collision repair business where customers were rarely happy to be there, customers at New Beginnings are happy to be shopping!
Through the first few years so many of them said, “this is my favorite store!” We decided to make this part of our store name.
We enjoy shopping, going to market, decorating the store and meeting so many interesting people from everywhere!
